Time and Place
I've just put down "The Future Belongs to Those Who..." article, and much like Elaine was, I am a bit taken aback by the volume of this task of looking at futures.
But I'll admit that I am excited to begin.
What we are about to undertake is something that not many in education get the time, nor support to do within their institutions. We rarely have the luxury of looking to the future with any kind of playfulness, but rather with dread, fear, or inevitability. Using modeling methods would do wonders for stakeholders within these institutions. What's also lacking is an explanation of this process to the larger community.
As we move through our modeling--I was really interested in Dave's opening remarks after spending time in Singapore--I'd love to be a part of an analysis of several different models we create. I think there are so many visions of what learning will look like in the near future, and so many possibilities.
