I really like the idea of 'futures thinking' as a methodology that will guide what we will do in this course. I am an interaction designer and future thinking is a main component of what I do. Future Workshops are a data collection method that I use to explore and investigate future visions with end users. I am excited to see an equivalent method being developed in education.

I'm looking forward to the discussion about the future. My immediate, day to day, is always about student engagement and how to motivate students to be active participants in their futures. I believe that looking forward to possibilties for the future of educataion will open my mind to help me to translate that into my day to day, to challenge me. Thanks for letting us be open participants.

Hi Dave ~ thanks for the intro.

In 2006, I was facilitating a DE course at Concordia (MTL) and asked the students to brainstorm about current trends (social, technological, and a third one that I cannot remember right now) and how, from those ideas, where did they think education was going. It sounds similar, I think, to what you did with your group. It would be fun to compare notes at some point. Mine, too, was a quick and dirty informal.

Looking forward to the course.
